Heading up to Christmas and into the New Year we will be exploring the pillars of wellness that keep us grounded over this time of the year.
This week we talked to the Two Raw Sisters, Margo and Rosa, who's mission is to inspire, motivate and educate the benefits of plant-based eating and creating a healthy, happy and sustainable lifestyle that you can maintain forever.

How do you keep well throughout the festive season? 

For us, this time of year is all about relaxing, doing nothing, eating good food + spending quality time with friends + family. Our years are always so full on, especially from Sept - Dec with book tours + workshops when we are away a lot. So it’s nice to stay in one place + regain a much needed balance + social life.

What is your favourite way to work-out during summer?

We are both quite different when it comes to working out on holiday. Rosa is an active rester and I’m a sleeping rester.

You’ll find me (margo) taking it a bit slower with things like walking, pilates sessions or a 30-45min HIIT workout when I’m feeling it. 

Rosa on the other hand loves running so she loves to do long trail runs + all sorts of new walks up in the mountains.

Some of our favourites are Mt Roy (5 hour return) or Diamond Lakes (2 hour return)

What is your favourite thing about this time of year? 

Not having to touch our laptops or phones and totally switching off from work. It is the one time of year where work is the least of everyones worries. Time no longer matters, you live in the moment and forget what day it is.

Go to Summer salad?

Our favourite salad is this Tahini Broccoli. We are all about fast, easy, delicious salads filled with colours, textures + flavours and can easily be transported to the beach. This tahini broccoli ticks all of those boxes. Using ingredients you will all have at home and used many times before. Crispy fresh raw broccoli, crunchy walnuts + yummy chewy cranberries tossed through a creamy tahini sesame dressing. Lasting a good 3 days in the fridge this salad will become your new staple.

Tahini Broccoli 

Serves 4-6 

1 head of broccoli, finely chopped 

1 shallot or 1/4 of a red onion

1/4 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup walnuts, toasted + roughly chopped 

1 tsp sea salt 


Tahini Dressing:

2 tbsp tahini 

4 tbsp water

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 

1 tsp sesame oil 

 

Method:

For the dressing, mix everything together in a cup. Until a smooth creamy dressing is formed. 

Pour the dressing into a bowl, along with the chopped broccoli. Mix until the broccoli is evenly covered in the dressing. Add the onion, cranberries, walnuts + sea salt. Mix well until everything is well combined. 

Any leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
